Rename the credit-card payment method in Shopify

Change the customer-facing credit-card label shown in Shopify Checkout without changing the XPay payment integration.

Update the checkout content#

1. Sign in to the merchant's Shopify Admin.
2. Open Settings → Checkout.
3. Locate Checkout language.
4. Select Edit checkout content.
5. Search for Credit card.
6. Locate the credit-card label and replace it with the approved merchant-facing text.
7. Save the change.

Verify the label#

Open the storefront checkout in the applicable language and confirm that:

• The new label appears in the payment-method section.
• The label is clear and does not imply an unsupported payment method.
• The XPay payment flow still opens and completes normally.

Repeat the content change for each checkout language in which the merchant needs a custom label.
